In this SSIS Tutorial I will show you how to use Audit Transformation. For the purpose of this tutorial I will use SSIS 2012.
Other Versions of SQL Server:
- SSIS 2012
- This blog post has been written using SSIS 2012
- SSIS 2008 / R2
- The examples we used should work in SSIS 2008 and R2
- SSIS 2005
- We suspect that this will work in SSIS 2005 as well
In my first step I have a package - Control Flow. In the middle I have a Data Flow Task, which I double clicked.
As we can see below, in Data Flow I have got ADO NET Source.
I double clicked ADO NET Source and choose "HumanResources"."Shift" in name of the table or the view.
Next we have to click Preview and we can see that retrieved several fields and rows.
In this tutorial I will show you how to use Other Transforms and I will select Audit.
Audit is a very simple Transformations which allows us to simple file to Audit and make it more readable.
I will create a new DataPaf and double clicked an Audit.
Audit allows me to select all of these columns - in this case I will select all of them.
These are Audit types which we can choose.
I will create a new DataPaf in Derived Column and enable Data Viewer. I will click start Debugging or F5.
As we can see below we have an Execution instance GUID, Package ID, Package Name,Version ID, Execution Start Time, Machine Name, User Name, Task Name, Task ID.
In this tutorial I showed you how to use Audit Transformation and I hope you enjoyed this tutorial.
