In this Excel Tutorial I will show you how to Customize The Ribbon using Excel 2010.
Customize the Ribbon... options allows us to add new tabs with groups and commands or modify existing tabs.
To start our first step we have to click right on the ribbon and we have to select Customize the Ribbon as we can see at the picture below.
Picture below shows us options of Customize the Ribbon.
To add a new tab we just have to click New Tab button.
We can than rename the tab by selecting it and clicking Rename button.
In this case I renamed it to My Tab
Our next step is to change the group name. In this case we have to select - New Group (Custom) and click Rename.
As you can see in Rename Window we can change both the symbol and Display Name.
In this case it will call it the most useful commands. I click OK and a new tab is created.
Below you can see that new tab.
Next, we will add some commands to the group - to do this we have to right click the ribbon and select Customize The Ribbon.
At the right side in the table we have to select - the most useful commands group and at the left side I select All Chart Types - and clicked Add.
I scroll down and select Sort Ascending, Sort Descending and Sum Function
Next I will set up My Tab to display as the first tab on the Ribbon.
To do this we have to clicked My Tab (Custom) and use the arrow - Move Up
I click ok to accept the changes.
As we can see, My Tab is displayed as the first tab with new commands in the most useful commands group.
To reset our customized ribbon and go back to default settings, Right click the ribbon and select Customize The Ribbon. At the right lower corner we can see Reset button - I click it and select - Reset all customizations and the ribbon will go back to default setttings.
Next, I will show you to remove just one tab. We have to go again to Customize The Ribbon and add a New Tab.
To remove the tab we have to clicked right on the New Tab (Custom) and select Remove.
