In this Excel Tutorial I will show how to use database Dcount Function using Excel 2010.
For purpose of this tutorial I use Packing slip template.
Dcount Function is use to count rows based on criteria.
Here is my table. At the top I have the column header.Below, I will type my criteria.
In my example I would like to see all flowers which cost less than one hundred fifty. I will place equal and one hundred fifty.
I go to formula bar place equal and Dcount. Now I click insert function (fx) - this is the easier way to see the arguments.
In the database I will select all table.
In the Field I select just Price.
At the end I will select the Criteria.
These are my three arguments. Dcount function returns me five (5) values witch match a condition.
Now, I will count manually how many re-cost I have.
Below one hundred fifty (150) I have 5 re-cost - that's show that the previous result five (5) was correct.
You can find Dcount function if you go to Formulas tab and Insert Function. In the drop down box I will select Database function.
In select and function category I will choose Dcount function and click OK.
Now I am able to create a Dcount function. This is the way how you can create Dcount Function.
I hope this Excel Tutorial was helpful.
