In this Excel Tutorial I will show you how to use Count Function using Excel 2010.
For purpose of this tutorial I use Packing slip template.
Count Function count number of rows but only numeric one. I will show basic on the example.
I count Prices then I go to formula bar to type equal and Count.
Next I open parenthesis and select the range. When I close parenthesis and click ENTER
To finish this example I close parenthesis and click ENTER.
As you can see I have five rows in Price column.
Now, I will try to count a type of Flower. The same like in previous example I type equal and Count.
Next I open the parenthesis select the range of flowers, close parenthesis and click ENTER.
The results is 0 - it doesn't work.
Another way to find Count function is Formulas tab. Next we select More Function-Statistical and when we scroll down Count.
You can also use Insert Function and select Statistical from drop down box.
When you scroll down you can find Count Function.
In the Function Argument table I delete Value 1 and next I select the range of Price. Pictures below, show you this steps.
The results should be the same like in previous example.
